Although this film was disturbing and upsetting, it was very much needed in order to open up the eyes of those who are ignorant to Arab racism. To be perfectly honest, I was not aware of the extent that Arabs are portrayed so badly in the film industry. Aside from Aladdin, I do not believe that I have ever watched any true Middle Eastern movies, so this would make sense as to why I was shocked at what I saw. It is so wrong for producers to make any race seem violent or less than. We should all be viewed equal as one human race!
Something sort of off topic but interesting that I would like to bring up is why a race such as Arabs are terribly discriminated against, especially after 9/11, yet Germans are not discriminated against for over a decade of Nazis persecuting Jews. I am not saying that Germans or anyone for that matter should be viewed in a negative way just because of something people that they share the same ethnicity as committed a horrific act in the past, but it seems interesting to me that the white Germans kind of had an easier time in society after the Holocaust period than the third world Middle Easterns did after the US attacks on September 11th.
