Today’s class discussion definitely clarified the concepts in the “Good Sex” reading for me. Because I am not Jewish, I am unfamiliar with some of the terms in the readings. I tend to understand the main takeaways, but normally there are always some words that I am unsure of their meaning; however, some of those words were defined for me in class today. I did not really understand the first story we talked about with the wife being assaulted, but for the most part I did understand the reading with the rabbi and the prostitute. I did think it was very strange for a rabbi to be with a prostitute. I am glad that the point of view of that story was clarified, as it was accounted for from the perspective of the rabbi even though it was not told in first person.
